Edgar Wright to direct sci-fi film 'Collider'

While we're all pretty excited for what Edgar Wright has in store with Marvel's Ant-Man, he's got a number of projects in the pipeline that are just as interesting. This September he gets underway on The World's End, the finale to his Simon Pegg/Nick Frost trilogy. And let's not forget he's attached to direct a remake of The Night Stalker, with Johnny Depp starring. Not bad at all. But there's room to add one more to his busy schedule, and it's one that being kept in secret.

Deadline reports that Wright will direct and co-write Collider, a sci-fi film written by Mark Protosevich(I Am Legend). We don't have any plot details at the moment, but we have a pretty good reason why it's being kept so under wraps: J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot is co-producing, and Abrams loves his secrets.

With talent like this, you better believe I and many others will be keeping our eyes focused on how Collider develops. Since The Night Stalker's start date seems a little doughy at this point, I'm guessing this will fit in after Ant-Man, which Marvel has pegged for 2014.
