New look at Kristen Wiig in dark comedy, 'Imogene'


After her Bridesmaids success, one of the first films Kristen Wiig began to champion was Imogene, a dark comedy written by her friend Michelle Morgan, who she met while on SNL. The two had been trying to get the movie made for years, but it wasn't until Wiig proved her box office mettle that things started to fall into place, and now with Imogene set to premier at TIFF this September, we're getting some new images.

Wiig stars as the titular washed up playwright who, after faking her own death in order to win back her ex-boyfriend(Glee's Darren Criss), is remanded into the custody of her dysfunctional family. Matt Dillon and Annette Bening co-star, with Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini(American Splendor) directing.

There's no release date yet, and considering Wiig's presence didn't exactly help Friends with Kids gain any traction, I'm curious to see what her future as a name brand holds. Check out the photos below....
