Amy Adams gets angry in new clip from 'The Master'

If you happened upon last night's episode of Late Night with Dave Letterman, then you likely saw Amy Adams on there taking a fly swatter to the host's attempts to drag Scientology into the discussion of The Master. The Paul Thomas Anderson film has been a lightning rod for those who see it as little more than an outright indictment of the kooky controversial religion, even if those who have seen the movie seem to be mixed on whether or not that's true. While I think some of the parallels between Lancaster Dodd(Philip Seymour Hoffman) and L. Ron Hubbard are obvious based on the clips we've seen, to me it looks like more of a character study about the types of men who create and become swayed by any organized religion.

Anyway, the clip Adams brought along with her is a short but powerful one, focusing on her character of Mary Sue Dodd. In it we see her urging her husband to go on the offensive against those who would speak out against The Cause. The Master opens opens in theaters on September 14th, check out the footage below....
