"America! F**k yeah!" The trailer for 'Red Dawn' is here!

A lot has changed since Red Dawn first stormed theaters back in 1984 in all its explosive, patriotic fury. First of all, we no longer have any remnants of Cold War paranoia hanging over our heads(well, unless your name is John Bolton). Many of the enemy nations we always saw presented in our favorite action flicks are now our allies, and those that aren't couldn't hold a candle to our military. Period. Kinda makes it hard to take them seriously as credible threats, even in the movies. The original Red Dawn was considered one of the most violent movies ever back then, but now it looks incredibly tame. One thing that hasn't changed, though? We'll always turn out to watch a bunch of gorgeous, flag waving patriots fire big guns and blow stuff up.

The trailer for the Red Dawn remake has been released, and it's been a long time coming. Filmed way back in 2009, it's been sitting on the shelf ever since, but has emerged just in time to take advantage of its newly popular cast. Chris Hemsworth(Thor), Josh Hutcherson(The Hunger Games), Adrianne Palicki(G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise, and Josh Peck play a ragtag bunch who take up arms when their hometown falls victim to a nationwide invasion by the Chinese....errrr, sorry, the North Koreans. The decision was made to change the villains once somebody recognized China sends a lot of money our way. Love that creative integrity, FilmDistrict!

Toss logic and any hope of complexity out the window and this actually looks kinda fun, with lots of "rah rah" bravado and plenty of big action. I guess nobody remembered to tell the casting agent that two of the actors are Australian, but that probably wouldn't have mattered anyway. I saw the trailer last night with a jam packed crowd, and by the end everybody was shouting "Wolverines!!!!" at the top of their lungs, so don't be surprised if Red Dawn proves to be a big hit when it opens on November 21st. Check out the trailer below....
