Stephanie Leigh Schlund cast as Cashmere in 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'

With today's addition of Stephanie Leigh Schlund to the cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, that leaves only a handful of major slots yet to be filled. At this rate, it's possible we'll find out who will win the coveted role of Finnick by early next week, or if Lionsgate is generous, maybe even in just a couple of days. I hope so, because other than for the role of Beetee it's probably the only other one that will be filled by a recognizable face.

The newly cast Schlund will play District 1 Tribute, Cashmere, another one of the Career pack along with her brother, Gloss(Alan Ritchson). Like many of the other Hunger Games victors, Cashmere's life afterwards didn't turn out so well, with Haymitch(Woody Harrelson) hinting that she had become a prostitute for the Capitol.

Catching Fire marks the beginning of a change in tone that I'm curious to see if people respond to. Basicallly, Katniss(Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta(Josh Hutcherson) must go on a Victor's Tour of  Panem after winning the 74th Hunger Games, and along the way they begin to see the true impact of the Capitol's rule. In order to stamp down the hope caused by their victory, President Snow(Donald Sutherland) prepares the 75th Hunger Games, known as the Quarter Quell, which will force Peeta and Katniss to fight for their lives yet again.  Catching Fire opens next year on November 22nd.
