Imogen Poots joins Aaron Paul in 'Need for Speed'

Although the Fright Night remake was basically shunned by audiences, that hasn't stopped slowed down Imogen Poots one bit. She's been filling her dance card with a mix of high profile gigs such as Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups and smaller stuff like A Late Quartet, while also being in contention for the female lead in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Whether she gets that role or not remains to be seen, but she'll have one tentpole franchise under her belt regardless.

THR reports Poots will join Aaron Paul in Need for Speed, a big screen version of the Electronic Arts street racing video game.  She'll do more than just lean sexily on the hood of a car, too, as she'll play a savvy exotic car dealer who hooks up racers with high-end vehicles. The script comes from George Gatins, and will be directed by Act of Valor's Scott Waugh.

Dreamworks has said the film will be rooted in 1970s car culture while maintaining the spirit of the best-selling video games, and clearly the studio has big plans of turning this into something big in the vein of Fast and the Furious.  Need for Speed is set to open on February 7th 2014.
