Nobody would dispute that Q is one of the James Bond franchise's most enduring and beloved characters, but we haven't seen him portrayed on screen in a decade. John Cleese last played Bond's gadget guy in Die Another Day, but with the franchise all rebooted in a more grounded and modern way, they decided to go younger by bringing in Ben Whishaw for the role.
The latest Skyfall clip has Bond meeting his new young Quartermaster for the first time, and immediately the relationship is a contentious one. Bond has no faith in Q's youth, while Q seems to consider Bond little more than the blunt instrument he's often described as being. Hopefully this is a battle that lasts for a long time and figures into the plot in some way.
