For the last few hours a very interesting rumor was going around the internet, and I'm glad I sat on it and didn't post anything. The story, courtesy of the great folks at Twitch, was that Michael Bay was talking to his Pain and Gain star Mark Wahlberg for a role in Transformers 4. It seemed logical, since we know the original cast won't be returning. And let's not forget that Jason Statham was rumored for the lead awhile back. Wahlberg and Statham are somewhat similar in a cool tough guy sorta way.
But it all turned out to be false, or at least that's what Bay has revealed via his own website....
Bay: "The Mark Wahlberg T4 rumor is just a rumor. Mark and I are talking about another film project."
So much for that. Of course....one could be a nit-picky sonuvabitch and note that he didn't REALLY deny it, but let's take him at his word and assume Wahlberg won't be in Transformers 4. So what's this other project Bay is dreaming up? Another low budget affair like Pain and Gain? Or something more in line with what we're used to? Let the speculation begin.
