New vintage poster for 'Hitchcock' with Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren

Everybody's going retro, it seems. Apparently old school is new school once again. Sometimes the reasons for reaching back don't make a heck of a lot of sense, like with Paul Schrader's trailer for The Canyons. But other times it's dead on perfect, like with this new poster for Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock.

It's a pretty cool image, one that gives a look at many of the A-list crew who will be emulating some famous faces from cinematic history. Anthony Hopkins will play the legendary filmmaker, chronicling his struggles to get Psycho completed in the face of a studio that didn't really want it. Helen Mirren is his wife, Alma, no small source of a few personal headaches as well. Jessica Biel plays Vera Miles, with Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, James D'Arcy as Tony Perkins, Toni Collette as Peggy Robertson, and up in the corner there's Danny Huston as writer Whitfield Cook.

With the internet currently buzzing about Daniel Day-Lewis' performance in Lincoln after last night's surprise screening, Hopkins is facing some stiff competition already in the Best Actor category. Hitchcock opens on November 23rd.
