Punch Drunk DVD's

Punch Drunk DVD's for October 15th, 2012

It's not often that a found footage horror movie is universally approved of here a Punch Drunk Critics but somehow Chernobyl Diaries surprised us all and ended up being just different enough from the other movies of it's type to warrant a recommendation  If you ask me the whole horrors produced by the effects of radiation thing hasn't been done enough in recent years.

RENT

Wes Anderson's latest movie follows the events surrounding two young lover's who run off and the search party looking for them. This is one of the tougher movie's to rate...Wes Anderson isn't for everyone he's a real love him or hate him type with his films. Moonrise Kingdom is very clear Wes Anderson but still may have broad enough appeal to bring some new people to the fold so if your unsure you should definitely rent.

BUY

After last year's Jack & Jill Adam Sandler desperatley needed a miracle to redeem himself. He didn't get it. That's My Boy is far from Sandler's worst...hell, had it not been for the horrible voices he makes, that he must think are comic gold, this may have been a good enough movie to rent. Unfortunatley that, "had it not been for", bit should have given away that he does use the same voice that he's been using for 20 years and stopped being funny halfway through 1995.

SKIP

The Madagascar series is probably the least memorable of all the major CG animated films. Travis and I honestly weren't sure how there was a third film being made....then we checked the box office numbers. Apparently the least memorable major CG film is still a major CG film, raking in 100's of millions of dollars. As a film it's fun enough definitely more of a true kid's movie than a lot of the recent G rated flicks that catered to adults as well.

Parents: BUY
Everyone else: RENT
