Soooo...Sam Raimi is directing "Poltergeist' after all?

There's a lot of eyes on Sam Raimi right now, but it's for a good reason. His remake of Evil Dead premiered some footage at NYCC, which was then leaked to the internet, and was well-received by pretty much everybody who saw it. There's also been a lot of talk surrounding the remake of Poltergeist, which he's producing and was once considering as a directing gig. With David Lindsay-Abaire confirming he's writing the script, it's starting to look like Raimi may step by the camera after all.

In a THR story by Scott Feinberg about Rise of the Guardians, which Lindsay-Abaire wrote. Noting the writer's involvement with Poltergeist, the story states that Raimi is directing the remake. Feinberg later revealed that Lindsay-Abaire was the source of the information, so.....that's a confirmation, right? Certainly sounds like it.

I don't have any reason not to believe the story, and Raimi definitely is on a horror remake tear right now. Poltergeist probably doesn't need to be updated, but if it's going to happen Raimi is a guy who has a great shot at making it work.
