Sure Shots: Anne Hathaway; Cam Gigandet; Paul Dano

* How hot is Mindy Kaling right now? Making the jump from The Office into her own Fox sitcom, The Mindy Project, she's now seeing her screenwriting work attract a lot of attention. Anne Hathaway will star in The Low Self-Esteem of Lizzie Gillespie, a film co-written by Kaling and The Office's Brent Forrester. Hathaway will play the titular character, whose low self-esteem causes her to date losers until suddenly things start to turn around when the hottest guy ever starts pursuing her. This one's still pretty early on as Hathaway is plenty busy, so a director will be sought in the meantime. Kaling will also co-star in a supporting role. [THR]

* Somebody out there still thinks Cam Gigandet can be...something, I guess. He of the bushy eyebrows will star with comedian Nick Thune in the sex comedy, Johnson. Yes, the title says a lot in this case. Directed Huck Botko(The Virginity Hit), the film follows a womanizer who wakes up one morning to find that his overworked penis has left his body and taken on human form. Somehow in there is supposed to be a story about becoming a better man. I'm surprised a studio has the balls to greenlight this thing! Gigandet will play the womanizer, while Thune is the "johnson". * It's already been a pretty good year for Paul Dano, what with four films under his belt, including Looper which is in theaters right now. Adding to what should be an equally strong 2013, Dano has joined the cast of Prisoners, the promising new revenge thriller from Denis Villeneuve(Incendies). Dano will join Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Melissa Leo in the film that follows a small-town carpenter who takes the law into his own hands after the cops fail to find his abducted daughter and best friend. After a long delay, Prisoners is set to finally begin filming early next year. Dano will be seen next in Steve McQueen's Twelve Years A Slave. [Variety]
