Vince Vaughn's 'Starbuck' gets a new title

Perhaps fearing that American audiences won't understand the reference, Dreamworks have changed the title of the upcoming Vince Vaughn comedy, Starbuck. Instead they've settled on the much more generic title of The Delivery Man, according to ComingSoon.net.

Ken Scott is remaking his own smash hit Canadian comedy about a middle-aged loser whose sperm was used to father over 500 kids, with Vaughn starring alongside Cobie Smulders, Chris Pratt, and Britt Robertson as one of his many daughters. In the original film(review here), the main character(played brilliantly by Patrick Huard) was named 'Starbuck' after a Holstein bull that sired hundreds of progeny through artificial insemination. So the title was a joke in and of itself. A joke we are apparently too stupid to figure out for ourselves.

A bad move, in my opinion, but then again I hate the idea of seeing such a great film remade in the first place. All this title change does is confirm my fears we're in for a dumbed down version of the story.
