Tyler Shields' teen thriller Final Girl has always sounded like it could be a fun twist on the genre in the same way as All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, and with the latest additions to the cast it's only gotten better. The film stars Abigail Breslin as the so-called "final girl", which is generally the last woman standing at the end of a slasher movie. With Alexander Ludvig(The Hunger Games) already set to co-star, the latest to sign on are Wes Bentley, Francesca Eastwood, Connor Paulo(Gossip Girl), Logan Huffman(V), and Michael Trevino(The Vampire Diaries).
Bentley has been on a tear lately, with The Hunger Games under his belt and Terrence Malick's upcoming untitled film. He's also set to star in the Malick-produced Abraham Lincoln biopic, The Green Blade Rises. Eastwood is indeed one of Clint Eastwood's daughters, appearing on the E! reality show Mrs. Eastwood & Company(poor Clint). She also happens to be Shields' girlfriend, so he's obviously found another way of keeping her happy.
Breslin will play the loner Veronica, a shy and vulnerable new student at school which makes her the obvious target of a group of boys who lead girls into the woods to hunt and kill them for sport. When they get her alone, they discover that she's turned the tables on them. An assassin-in-training, she's chosen to make these boys her final test.
