Bret McKenzie covers up a murder in the 'Two Little Boys' trailer

Oh, so we're supposed to believe that Flight of the Conchords' Bret McKenzie has other friends besides Jemaine Clement and Kermit the Frog? That's a tough sell! The horribly named New Zealand dark comedy, Two Little Boys, sees McKenzie pairing up with Hamish Blake, who also happens to be one-half of the comic troupe Hamish and Andy.  Despite the title, the film is not at all for the kiddies or for sexual deviants, and deals mostly in murder and sophomoric hijinks.

Based on the novel by Duncan Sarkies and directed by his brother, Robert, the film follows Nigel(McKenzie) and Deano(Blake), two lifelong buddies who make every possible mistake while trying to cover up an accidental murder. Rockin' a pair of mean mullets, they embark on a road trip to get rid of the body, and will presumably also learn some life lessons about friendship. Call me crazy, but I've always been a sucker for the Weekend at Bernie's type of humor, and that's what appeals to me more than the bromance stuff. It's just interesting to see McKenzie in this sort of film after earning such great acclaim for The Muppets soundtrack. He'll also have a small role in another New Zealand production, a little trilogy you may have heard of called The Hobbit.
