Liam Neeson to play an "aging hit man" in 'The All Nighter'

Ready for more of Liam Neeson: Action Star? The actor has been adding a slew of genre flicks to his resume, some of which sound pretty promising while others a lot like Taken knock-offs. The latest addition to his slate appears to fall in that latter category, as The Wrap reports Neeson has entered talks to star in The All Nighter(aka Run All Night) in which he'll play an aging hit man.

Based on a spec script by Brad Inglesby(Out of the Furnace) which was picked up early this year, the story follows an older hit man who must defeat his former mob boss in a single night, ending up on the run alongside his estranged son. This one's still pretty early in development as no director is attached, Neeson taking on a genre most people seem to like him in is a good way to get this one moving forward pretty fast.

Right now Neeson is filming a role in Third Person, an ensemble drama from Paul Haggis. He's also got the airline thriller Non-Stop with his Unknown director Jaume Collet-Serra, Scott Frank's A Walk Among the Tombstones, and will lend his voice to Lego: The Piece of Resistance.
