Marion Cotillard shown up by a whale in new 'Rust and Bone' clip


There are exactly three moments in Jacques Audiard's remarkable Rust and Bone that brought this guy to tears. One of those scenes can be found in the newest clip from the film, but until you see everything that leads up to this moment, the impact will probably be lost. Even so, it's a beautiful scene and shows Marion Cotillard isn't just fantastic acting against humans, but even with grandstanding whales.

Cotillard plays a trainer of killer whales at a Sea World-style marine park, who loses her legs in a freak accident. She begins to rise from her deep depression with the help of a homeless single father(Matthias Schoenaerts) who has more than his own share of problems. In my review I referred to it as an "unyielding emotional powerhouse", and my opinion hasn't wavered in the least. Rust and Bone opens in limited release on November 23rd.
