New trailer for 'On the Road' starring Kristen Stewart and Sam Riley

The thirty year wait for a successful adaptation of Jack Kerouac's seminal On the Road may nearly be over, but these last few months have felt like an eternity waiting for it to finally arrive. Although there was some pretty heavy praise for stars Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley, and Garrett Hedlund, the buzz surrounding the film as a whole has been extremely quiet. Certainly it doesn't look to be an awards contender, but that doesn't mean it can't capture that Beat Generation spirit.

There's not a lot of new footage in the newly released, but the passion, the sex, and that free-wheelin' American attitude is undeniable. Reuniting The Motorcycle Diaries pair of Walter Salles and writer Jose Rivera, the film follows writer Sal Paradise(Riley) as he hits the road with the fearless Dean Moriarty(Hedlund) and his gal, Marylou(Stewart). Befitting a film of this magnitude the supporting cast is spectacular with turns by Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, Terrence Howard, and many more as key fixtures of the Beat movement.

On the Road finally arrives for a limited run on December 21st. Check out the trailer below....
