The Amazing Spider-Man:
NOTE: RELEASES THIS FRIDAY 11/9/12
Of all the reboots that Hollywood has produced none was more peculiar than The Amazing Spider-Man. The original trilogy of films began a little over a decade ago and, riding on the newfound love of comic movies created by X-Men, was wildly successful setting box office records along the way. That being said, watching this movie really shows you that we were wild about an inferior product. The reboot, one of the best take 2's we've seen, gives us a better actor in the suit and a Spider-Man more akin to the one we love from the comics. One of the most under-rated movies of the summer this one is NOT to be missed.

Arthur Christmas:
It must be November, the Christmas movies that swept through theaters last year are officially hitting store shelves to spread their yule time joy. (Seriously, why does Thanksgiving get no cinematic love!). Arthur Christmas tells the story of Santa's son who must take on an important mission to save Christmas. While it's nowhere near a threat for new classic status, it is a completely servicable Christmas cheer spreading device. Depending on how deeply you immerse yourself in all things Santa it may be a buy to fill in the space between Rudolph and Frosty.

The Muppet Christmas Carol:
I honestly don't know what the consensus is on the Muppet's take of the Dickens classic. I do know that it is one of my favorite versions of Ebeneezer Scrooge's look through what is and what may be. There's no question in my mind that this is a buy even if only for the one time a year that it will be in season.

They Live:
The movie that pretty much defines cult favorite is getting a special edition Blu-ray release. By all angles the film appears to be the bottom of cinematic achievement...but somehow it has gained not just a following but really icon status among fans and pop culture enthusiasts across the board. I'll run it down, Rowdy Roddy Piper discovers that aliens have taken over by assuming human form, the only way you can tell who's an alien and who's not is with a pair of 80's-tastic Ray Ban's (see poster). Past all of the awesomeness the movie's greatest gift to humanity is the line delivered by Piper, "I have come to kick ass and chew bubblegum.....and I'm all outta bubblegum", the line pretty much defines what to expect from the movie, goofy awesomeness.

Entourage (The Complete Series):
I can't think of a single TV show that went from having tons of fans to tons of haters (who still watched every week I might add) during the course of it's run as vocally as Entourage. My only thought is that at first people loved watching these guys because that's how they wanted to live their lives....eventually those same people hated Vince and Co. because they realized that they will never live those lives and didn't want it rubbed in their face. Personally...while the show did have it's ups and downs, I remained a fan throughout. This boxed set is a must have for fans especially with the amazing 60% off that we're (via Amazon) offering. Get every season of the hit show now for $140 before the price goes up to the MSRP of $300. Time To start that Christmas shopping people!

VIDEO GAME OF THE WEEK

Master Chief is back! While there was a lot of trepidation about this release since it's long time developer, Bungie, stepped out of making it, the reviews are in and they are amazing. HALO is easily the most influential game of this generation, single handedly popularizing the Xbox, first person shooters, co-op play, and online multi-player (I hope you didn't forget that Call of Duty came much MUCH later). Hell you can even credit the Halo series for such cultural acheivements as yelling offensive insults at a 12 year old in Bulgaria or the ever popular tea-bagging of your enemies corpse. Thank you Halo.
