I wasn't all that impressed with Pixar's Brave, although most people seemed to enjoy it. What really touched me and warmed the cockles of my heart was the short film that preceded it, Enrico Casarosa's coming-of-age fairy tale, La Luna.
Nominated for Best Animated Short last year, La Luna follows a little boy who goes out on a boat at night with his Papa and Grandpa Nonno to partake in the family business, and let's just say it has nothing to do with fishing. Their job is much more grand than that, and allows for the sort of wonders one can barely imagine. La Luna will be available when Brave hits DVD/Blu-Ray, but also as part of the Pixar Shorts Collection 2 which hits stores on November 13th. Watch the film in full below....[The Animation Blog]
