1st look at Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's 'The World's End'
Turns out this whole apocalypse thing has turned out to be fertile ground for a pair of next year's most anticipated comedies to launch their marketing campaigns. Last night saw the side-splitting red band trailer for Seth Rogen's This Is The End, and now today brings the first photo from Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's The World's End.
The wrap-up to their much-loved "Blood and Ice Cream" trilogy, the film reunites the duo with Nick Frost, along with Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, and Paddy Considine. The only one we're missing is Rosamund Pike, but hopefully we'll get a look at her soon. We can expect The World's End to come on October 25th 2013. The plot is appropriately apocalyptic, and you can check it out in full below...
PLOT: In "The World’s End", 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – "The World’s End." As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching "The World’s End" is the least of their worries.
