The aging "retired extremely dangerous" agents are back in the sequel to Red, a film which seems to be flying under the radar despite the first one being a surprising hit in 2010. Gone is Morgan Freeman, but Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, and Mary Louise Parker will now be joined by Anthony Hopkins, fresh off his potential Oscar-nominated turn in Hitchcock.
EW has released the first official photo from Red 2, and it's certainly in keeping with the offbeat violent style of the original, all the way down to goofy outfits Willis and Malkovich are sporting. Dean Parisot(Galaxy Quest) takes over as director, expanding their comedic mission to an international level as they face enemies all across Europe. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung-hun, Neal McDonough, Karl Urban, and David Thewlis join in on the action when Red 2 opens on August 2nd 2013.
