Hugh Jackman confirmed for 'X-men: Days of Future Past'
He's the best there is at what he does, bub, and what Wolverine does is show up in a Hell of a lot of comic books. Now we can say the same for the number of movies he'll be turning up in. How much you want to bet he'll be crossing over with Fox's reboot of Fantastic Four at some point? Anyway, last month we learned that Hugh Jackman had entered talks to pop up as the feral mutant in X-men: Days of Future Past, and now director Bryan Singer has taken to Twitter and confirmed his joining.
"I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come..."
This was pretty much a no-brainer, with original X-men stars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen on board to return as Charles Xavier and Magneto. A sequel to X-men: First Class, the film is based on the seminal comic book storyline that takes place partially in a future where mutants have been deemed public enemy #1 after Mystique kills a prominent senator. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender will be returning, and it remains to be seen if others from the original trilogy will return, such as James Marsden, Halle Berry, and Anna Paquin. Famke Janssen is rumored to be showing up as Jean Grey in The Wolverine, confirming the relationship between all of the X-men movies.
X-men: Days of Future Past opens on July 18th 2014.
