Mireille Enos and Scott Speedman join Atom Egoyan's 'Queen of the Night'

We usually have to wait a handful of years between Atom Egoyan films, but now he seems to be picking up the pace. It was back in 2009 he gave us Chloe, which is notable only for Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried in a steamy make out session. His next film is his Devil's Knot, a narrative take on the West Memphis Three case, and as we learned back in August he'll follow that up with Queen of the Night.

Already starring Ryan Reynolds, Egoyan has now added Mireille Enos and Scott Speedman into the mix. Both are familiar with Egoyan, with Enos featuring in Devil's Knot while Speedman appeared in his controversial 2008 terrorism film, Adoration. Queen of the Night has Reynolds as a father whose daughter was kidnapped eight years prior, and now years later clues emerge to suggest the now 17-year old girl is alive. Enos will play Reynolds' wife, who checks in with the police each year on her daughter's birthday, only to have clues left behind in her daughter's memorabilia. Speedman will play a cop assigned to the case. To me this sounds like a soft remake of Tell No One, but supposedly that's being remade already over at Warner Bros.

Filming on Queen of the Night begins early next year.  [Deadline]
