Wes Anderson confirms Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, and more for 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'

Still riding high on the success of Moonrise Kingdom, Wes Anderson is starting to turn his attention to his next film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. Perhaps more than at any time since early in his career, more attention is being paid to exactly who will be part of the cast for the European-set film, and we've heard a number of names already being bandied about.

Originally Johnny Depp and Angela Lansbury were set to be involved, but they were forced to drop out, but Anderson has managed to dial up a number of his usual favorites with some new faces. Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Jason Schwartzman, Ralph Fiennes, Ed Norton, Bill Murray, and Saoirse Ronan were part of the confirmed cast, and now in a recent interview with THR, Anderson has revealed who on the rumored list has come aboard...

Anderson: Well, yes, it’s Grand Budapest Hotel. It’s a Euro movie. It’s a period picture. I can tell you the cast—maybe you already know the cast, but I can tell you properly who it is: We have Ralph Fiennes, and we have Tilda Swinton and Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, we have F. Murray Abraham and Jude Law, and we’ve got Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, and Mathieu Amalric. And I think Owen is gonna have a little part, too. Oh, Saoirse Ronan has quite a big part. I’m thinking if I’ve forgotten anybody. Yeah, we have a good group.
Um, yeah, I'd say that's a pretty good group, and the addition of Amalric(the villain in Quantum of Solace) is a welcome surprise. Other than what Anderson revealed in that statement, all we really know is that it will follow a well-mannered concierge played by Fiennes, and that the film is inspired by the works of Billy Wilder and Ernst Lubitsch.

Filming should begin next month, and hopefully we'll see it by the end of the year for a potential Oscar run?
