It was a Happy New Year over at the Comingsoon offices since they were apparently one of the few who received a holiday card from the folks at Pixar, featuring some never-before-seen concept art from their upcoming slate of films. Why couldn't we all get something like that? The looks are from movies stretching from later this year, including the previously seen image above from Monsters University, all the way up to 2016.
The first is this image from The Good Dinosaur, which opens on May 30th 2014. Directed by Bob Peterson, the story wonders what might have happened if the dinosaurs had never become extinct. The image appears to be of the two main characters, an outcast dinosaur and an outcast human who go off on a quest together.
Next is Peter Docter's rather ambitious film that takes us inside the human mind, specifically that of a little girl. Possibly titled The Inside Out, it's expected to arrive on June 19th 2015.
And finally is Pixar's untitled 2016 film about Dia de los Muertos, aka the Mexican "Day of the Dead".
All of these look great, and I especially love that art for Dia de los Muertos. Hopefully the entire thing will be done in that style.
