New photos from 'Man of Steel', 'Oz the Great and Powerful', 'Despicable Me 2' and more

USA Today is busting out their story on the year's biggest potential blockbusters, and in the process have dropped a bunch of new photos. Some of these have been talked about in my Most Anticipated post from a couple of days ago, but this also serves as a reminder of just how many I either forgot or just couldn't fit in. 2012's box office easily surpassed that of 2011, and I'm guessing 2013 is going to be even better.

The first shot features Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel. Note the military unit assembling behind him. We've seen them numerous times already, so assume they play a major part. The film opens on June 14th.

Morgan Freeman appears to have the upper hand against Tom Cruise in this Oblivion image, the new sci-fi film from Joseph Kosinski. Cruise plays a drone repairman on a desolate future Earth, who runs across a mysterious female played by Olga Kurylenko. Opening on April 19th, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Melissa Leo, and Zoe Bell will co-star.

Those cute little trouble-making Minions are back in Despicable Me 2, which looks more like a launching pad to their spinoff film than anything else. Have we even seen Steve Carell's Gru yet? And what about the villain voiced by Al Pacino? Despicable Me 2 arrives on July 3rd.

James Franco plays the titular wizard in Oz the Great and Powerful, a prequel to The Wizard of Oz directed by Sam Raimi. Michelle Williams is Glynda the Good Witch, with Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis rounding out the trio as Evanora and Theodora. Hit the yellow brick road on March 8th.

And finally, a new photo from the long-delayed World War Z featuring Brad Pitt and Mireille Enos as they try to survive a zombie apocalypse. Directed by Marc Forster, the film is an extremely loose adaptation of Max Brooks' excellent novel. If you can, pick it up and read it before the film arrives on June 21st.
