New red band trailer for 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters'
The suits over at Paramount really want you to remember Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. They know that despite January being considered the month where studios dump their crap movies, it's also one of the briskest months for business, and a genre picture like this with a recognizable star like Jeremy Renner could rake in the cash.
Mere days after releasing a trailer that was mostly blood-free, a new red band one arrives that puts all the gore right back into the mix. It looks like exactly the sort of film one would expect from director Tommy Wirkola, who earned some decent buzz for his outrageous undead Nazi horror, Dead Snow. The cast is strong, with Renner and Gemma Arterton playing the grown-up versions of the fairy tale kids, tracking down an evil witch played by Famke Janssen. Peter Stormare, Thomas Mann, and the always-welcome Zoe Bell are also part of the action. Still, this is the fourth trailer we've seen from it, and the second of the red band variety. Do they really think there's that much new to see?
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters opens on January 25th....[Collider]
