Greg Kinnear and Josh Lawson join 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues'
“We’re talking about … creating a murderer’s row of the best day players ever. Like having every single one line or three line role, be someone we just love.”
That was what Anchorman 2 director Adam McKay once said about his desire to pack the film with even more celebrity cameos than before. With shooting underway, Mckay is making good on that promise with the addition of Greg Kinnear and House of Lies star Josh Lawson to the cast.
Their roles are unclear, fitting for what will likely be very brief appearances, but they will join the returning Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Steve Carell, and Paul Rudd in the anticipated sequel which sends Ron Burgundy to New York. Other new additions include Harrison Ford, Meagan Good, Kristen Wiig, Dylan Baker, and James Marsden. Terence Stamp has been approached to play a corrupt media mogul, but his involvement is still unconfirmed.
Kinnear is primarily known for dramatic roles but has shown his comic flexibility in films like Little Miss Sunshine and Movie 43. Lawson recently had a small role in Ferrell's political comedy, The Campaign.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues hits theaters on December 20th.[Deadline]
