20th Century Fox has released a new international trailer for Epic, the animated film from Ice Age director Chris Wedge that looks an awful lot like Ferngully meets The Secret World of Arrietty. The story follows a teenage girl who discovers a secret forest world, joining a band of misfits in a fight against the forces of evil hoping to destroy it.
Although Escape from Planet Earth did reasonably well last month, it's expected that Epic and The Croods will be the big animated films for the first half of 2013. This trailer puts an emphasis on Epic's action, which should separate it from Dreamworks' prehistoric family comedy.
Featuring the voices of Beyonce, Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, and Aziz Ansari, Epic hits theaters on May 24th 2013.
