Rose Byrne in talks for 'This Is Where I Leave You' and 'Townies'

Walking the line between drama, comedy, and blockbusters better than most, Rose Byrne has been all over the place of late, and that's a good thing for the rest of us. The Bridesmaids star probably won't be back for X-men: Days of Future Past, but she'll be seen soon in Derek Cianfrance's powerful The Place Beyond the Pines. Now she's entered talks for two more films with strong casts.

THR reports that Byrne is circling a role in Shawn Levy's adaptation of Jonathan Tropper's This is Where I Leave You. Already starring Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, Adam Driver, Kathryn Hahn, and Corey Stoll, the film follows an estranged Jewish family who are forced to sit Shiva under the same roof after the death of their patriarch. Family squabbles and other fun things ensue, with Byrne taking on the romantic lead as Bateman's former crush.

The Nick Stoller-directed comedy Townies has been in the works for a couple of years with Seth Rogen and Zac Efron attached. With a start date slated for this spring, Byrne has come aboard the film which centers on a rivalry between a townie (Rogen) and an alpha male frat boy (Efron) who is ruining his home life.  Byrne will play the wife to Rogen and the responsible half of the couple.
