Cameron Diaz may make 'Sex Tape' with Jason Segel
Don't let the suggestive title fool you, there won't be any TMZ special reports to come out of this story. Cameron Diaz scored one of the biggest hits of her career in 2011 with Bad Teacher, one of a string of R-rated comedies that dominated the box office. The film, directed by Jake Kasdan and co-starring Jason Segel, earned over $200M, enough that it's pretty much a no-brainer for Sony to bring all of the pieces back together again for another project.
Diaz is in talks to join the raunchy comedy, Sex Tape, which Segel has been attached to for a couple of years. Kasdan came aboard a year ago, and Diaz's name has been mentioned for the other lead role for awhile, but it's only now that a deal appears to be imminent. Kate Angelo's Black List script follows a married couple who decide to get away from the kids for awhile and spice up their love life by making a sex tape, which promptly disappears.
It's been a busy year for Diaz as she'll be seen next opposite Colin Firth in a remake of Gambit, then later in Ridley Scott's The Counselor. Next up she'll begin filming on The Other Woman, which stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton. [TheWrap]
