Even with all of Bryan Singer's many tweets from the set of X-men: Days of Future Past, he's done a pretty good job of keeping many of the new additions' roles secret. We still have no clue which mutants (or non-mutants) will be taken on by Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, or Fan Bingbing, and now we have another mystery character to add to the list.
Adan Canto, who was up until very recently on The Following (anyone still watching that crap?), appeared in an image tweeted by Singer, which came with the following comment by Canto....
"Proud to be X-Men."
Ok, so it's pretty clear that he's in the film, but as who exactly? Go back a little further (thanks to BleedingCool for doing the digging), and Canto actually drops a pretty big clue, ironically to one of his followers....
"I might turn into a ball of fire if someone pisses me off."
That's led many to speculate that he'll play either the Japanese mutant Sunfire, or the Brazilian X-man/New Mutant/Avenger Roberto Da Costa aka Sunspot. Canto is Mexican, so Sunspot would make more sense, but then again neither fits his comments exactly. Sunspot gets his powers, which include super-strength and solar blasts, from the sun. Sunfire absorbs and re-directs solar radiation as fire. This assumes that Singer plans on sticking to the original interpretations of either character, which he's under no obligation to do.

Whatever the case, I'm getting concerned that the cast has grown so large as to be unwieldy. Not sure how Singer is managing it. X-men: Days of Future Past opens on July 18th 2014.
