ABC picks up Marvel's 'Agents of SHIELD'; first teaser features the Hulk

From the moment word broke that Marvel was planning a weekly, live-action TV series, there was never any doubt that it would get picked up. Even when we learned that it would focus on the men and women of the global espionage organization, SHIELD, it seemed like a no-brainer that ABC (which is part of Disney, by the way) would make it a centerpiece of their upcoming line-up. Those predictions have turned out to be true, as TV By the Numbers say that ABC is making a full season order on Agents of SHIELD, with the formal announcement to be made tomorrow.

The first promo was set to air this Sunday during the season finale of ABC's hit Once Upon a Time, but the network has gone and published it to their YouTube channel. It's only seven seconds long, but it's long enough to for a big, green, gamma-powered Avenger to turn up....


It's unclear what that "Rising Tide" logo is all about, but the footage of the Hulk seems to include some pretty sophisticated data analysis. So maybe he's a rogue SHIELD agent, or maybe the work of new recruit/hacker Skye? Only time will tell how important this footage is in Joss Whedon's pilot.
