First poster for 'Hercules 3D'; Scott Adkins joins the cast

There are a couple of Hercules movies coming our way next year, and both offer up reasons to be concerned. The most promising stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, but is saddled with Brett Ratner behind the camera. The other, Hercules 3D, has less star power with Twilight's Kellan Lutz in the title, Liam McIntyre (Spartcacus: War of the Damned) co-starring, and Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2) behind the camera. But working in its favor is that it will be the first to hit theaters in 2014, and a new poster has been revealed to get the hype started a little early.

The image was found over at Twitch, who also report the addition of Scott Adkins to the cast. Adkins was in the thick of a lot of action movie icons last year, appearing in both Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning and The Expendables 2. He'll take on the role of King Amphitryon, whose wife was impregnated by Zeus while he was away, leading to her giving birth to Hercules.

The film has been compared to Gladiator in terms of tone, but we'll have to wait until March 2014 to find out for sure.
