Interview: Craig Robinson talks 'Peeples', working with Tyler Perry, and spanking Kerry Washington

If there's anything that can be said about Tyler Perry's Peeples, it's that Craig Robinson finally gets a chance to shine on his own. The funnyman is best known for supporting gigs on The Office, Hot Tub Time Machine, and this summer's This Is the End, but he's actually been around plying his trade for longer than many think. Starting off as a stand-up comic working the Chicago club scene, he got his first big screen break in Daddy's Little Girls, one of Tyler Perry's earliest directorial efforts. Robinson has become a much bigger star since then, but for his first crack at playing the leading man, it's Perry who once again is a major influence.

I was joined by Shelby Jones in sitting down with Craig Robinson to talk with him about Peeples, and he discusses adjusting to being the headliner rather than a supporting player. He also talks about working with Tyler Perry, his love of Chicago sports; the hilarious first meeting with writer/director Tina Gordon Chism; and his excitement at getting to spank Kerry Washington.  Check out that interview below....
