Slingshot and Drift are two new Autobots in 'Transformers 4'

Paramount and Michael Bay have been rolling out (Get it? "Autobots, roll out!!!?") images of their flashy new Autobot vehicles in Transformers 4, and we've seen three of them already. Earlier we got our first look at Optimus Prime's slightly-upgraded rig, and before that we saw images of the stunning C7 Corvette Stingray and the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse. We just didn't know who they would be transforming into, but now we may have an idea.

Sources at Joblo have informed them that the lime green Corvette Stingray will be Slingshot, and the blue Vitesse is Drift. Both are characters who will be familiar to fans of the first generation Transformers, although it's unclear if the film version will reflect their comic book/cartoon counterparts. In the case of Slingshot, he was a member of the Aerialbots and transformed into a jet plane. Drift was a loner Transformer who joined the Decepticons as Deadlock, but soon turned on them and joined the Autobot cause.

Other than Optimus Prime and Bumblee, Bay's Transformers are pretty much interchangeable. Transformers 4 is in production now for release on June 27th 2014.
