WWE's John Cena, CM Punk, Vince McMahon and more to voice new 'Flintstones' animated film

There are numerous reasons why guys like me can't stand John Cena's character on WWE television. He's basically a walking advertisement, designed to get kids to buy the latest WWE merchandise, so because of that he never really evolves, and he also has the tendency to wear ridiculous outfits while coming up with childish catch-phrases. One of the nicknames he's adopted because of this is "fruity pebbles", because he has a big square head like Fred Flintstone and wears awful, brightly colored clothes. Post Cereal loved the free promotion, and put Cena on the Fruity Pebbles cereal box earlier this year. But now Cena will have his chance to go back in time and hang out in Bedrock as part of a new animated Flintstones film.

WWE Studios and Warner Bros. Animation have teamed up for a new Flintstones movie due to go straight-to-DVD in 2015. The film will feature Cena, CM Punk, Vince McMahon and more as versions of themselves with the usual Flinstones-inspired twists on their names. So Vince McMahon could be Vince McMagma, Cena as John Cenastone, or Punk as CM Punkrock.

The WWE has been overtly reaching out to appeal to younger audiences of late, changing their TV product to an all-ages format featuring less blood and toned down violence. They have the ABC Family holiday film Christmas Bounty due out later this year starring Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, and next year will see the release of a new Scooby-Doo film featuring WWE superstars solving a case centered around WrestleMania.

What are the chances of Cena giving an "Attitude Adjustment" to Mr. Slate? [Variety]
