Soaring new poster and TV spot for 'Man of Steel'
As rumors continue to swirl about Warner Bros.' plans for Justice League, it's important to remember that none of it will matter if Man of Steel turns out to be another Superman Returns. So far, indications are that it will live up to all of the lofty expectations, but the studio isn't taking any chances. With about a month and a half before the film flies into theaters, they've released a great new TV spot that maintains the epic feel of the trailers, followed by a poster featuring star Henry Cavill.
Other than Zack Snyder behind the camera, Cavill is perhaps the biggest question mark the film faces. One has to think that Christopher Nolan, on board here as a producer, wouldn't back him if he weren't capable. He'll get plenty of support from a cast that includes Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Laurence Fisbhurne, and Antje Traue. Man of Steel opens in 3D on June 14th.
Man of Steel - Spot TV #2 [VO|HD720p] by Lyricis
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
