TJ Miller joins 'Transformers 4'; first look at two Autobot vehicles
What's more important to the success of Transformers 4? The actors? Or the cars? Nobody would accuse Michael Bay of being an actor's director, but he sure can blow up a sweet, expensive new ride with the best of them. As filming gets underway on the latest war between the Autobots and Decepticons, there are a couple of updates involving a bit of casting on the human and automotive front.
The newest addition to the cast is T.J. Miller, who most will recognize from She's Out of My League or as one of the non-CGI characters in Yogi Bear. He'll be joining Mark Wahlber, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, and Fan Bingbing, playing a blue-collar mechanic and friend to Wahlberg's character. Miller should make for some decent comic relief, even if the part turns out to be a small one. His brief appearance in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World provided some of that film's biggest laughs.
Paramount has also released two images of new cars that will be in the film and eventually transform into Autobots. The value of both vehicles comes pretty close to matching the budget of Bay's Pain & Gain they're so expensive. The first is the $2.4M Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse, which comes with 1,200 horsepower under the hood and one Hell of an insurance policy. The second is the special race-inspired C7 Corvette Stingray based on Chevrolet's 2014 model. The Autobot Sideswipe has used this base model for the last couple of movies, so maybe he hit up Alpha Trion for an upgrade?
Transformers 4 is in production now and opens on June 27th 2014. [Yahoo]
