Tom Six lands an Oscar-nominee for 'The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence)'
The Human Centipede director Tom Six has been promising a big name for the last film in his vomit-inducing trilogy, The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence). Chances are nobody was expecting him to land Russell Crowe or Brad Pitt, but in the realm of shock horrors like this, gaining an Oscar-nominee of any sort is kind of a big deal. Even if that actor turns out to be Eric Roberts.
The Runaway Train star has joined the cast of the film, along with Tom "Tiny" Lister (Friday), Robert LaSardo, and ex-porn star Bree Olson. Yep, the same Olson who used to hang off Charlie Sheen's arm while he was publicly melting down. I'd say it's been good to see her move away from controversy (she's pretty cool on Twitter), but we're talking about The Human Centipede here, which has people stuck ass-to-mouth for large portions of the story. Six has promised up to 500 people as part of the chain this time, and recent casting call sheets suggest it will take place in a prison and the centipede comprised of inmates. Dieter Laser and Laurence Harvey are back to reprise their characters from the first two films, the second of which I didn't bother to watch. After a promising start, Roberts' career is kind of a punchline now. He appeared briefly in The Dark Knight Rises last summer, and has a scummy role in Lovelace coming up. He's just as likely to appear in straight-to-DVD crap or stuff that barely makes the cut on SyFy Channel.
Filming on The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) is already underway, so now may be a good time to start building up your gag tolerance. [EW]
