New trailer for 'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters' starring Logan Lerman
A lot has changed for Logan Lerman since his franchise debut with Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. He was briefly considered for Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man, which instantly upped his profile just being in contention. A strong performance in The Perks of Being a Wallflower proved he could be a solid leading man if called upon, and Darren Aronofsky saw enough to cast him in his Biblical epic, Noah. Now Lerman is taking all of that experience and bringing it to Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
A new trailer for the sequel has been released, and it's a definite improvement over the prior one. A big part of the reason is Lerman, who looks like a more capable and believable action hero than he did before. This one also highlights Nathan Fillion as the Greek god of speed, Hermes. Thor Freudenthal takes over as director, telling the story of Percy's quest to find the Golden Fleece and save his home.
Also starring Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, and Stanley Tucci, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters opens in 3D on August 16th.
PLOT: Based on the best-selling book, PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS continues the young demigod’s epic journey to fulfill his destiny. To save their world, Percy and his friends must find the fabled and magical Golden Fleece. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil.
