Wim Wenders lands James Franco for 'Every Thing Will Be Fine'
When exactly does James Franco find time to sleep? Always one to stay busy, Franco has filled his dance card with a number of projects that will see him in front of and behind the camera. This summer he'll star in the apocalyptic comedy This Is the End; he's currently filming True Story with Jonah Hill and Felicity Jones; he directed an adaptation of William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying which is bound for Cannes; not to mention he'll direct and star in The Garden of Last Days. As if that wasn't enough, he's just added one more film to the pile.
Franco will star in Every Thing Will Be Fine, a new family drama from Wim Wenders. Shot in 3D like Wenders' 2011 dance documentary, Pina, the film follows a writer named Tomas who twelve years earlier accidentally killed a child in an auto accident. The script by Bjørn-Olaf Johannessen will look at the impact the accident had on Tomas and the child's mother, played by the previously-attached Sarah Polley.
So add this to the lengthy list of projects on Franco's calendar. Filming is set to begin this August.[The Film Stage]
