Black Cat? Felicity Jones Talks Her Role In 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

After starring in smaller indie films such as Like Crazy, Hysteria, and Drake Doremus' upcoming Breathe In, Felicity Jones is making a jump to big-time superheroics in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Her role has been a mystery, however, with many assuming she'll play Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat, especially after a recent interview where she seemed to confirm it. Jones is back to playing coy in a new conversation with the Belfast Telegraph, not revealing her character by name but letting us know whether she's Spidey's friend or foe....

Jones: "It's TOP secret. I can tell you that she's sort of on the baddie's side, but I can't explain much more than that."

"Sort of" a villain is a pretty good way to describe Black Cat, who has been a lover to Peter Parker and a villain he's been forced to fight on more than one occasion. Even if Black Cat isn't in the film, this is yet another villain to add to the growing list, which already includes Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Dane DeHaan and Chris Cooper as Green Goblins Harry and Norman Osborne, and Colm Feore potentially as the Vulture.After the ending of the last film there's probably a good shot at seeing Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, as well.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2nd 2014.
