Hans Zimmer will score Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar'

Over the course of his 30 year career, Hans Zimmer has proven himself one of Hollywood's truly great composers. His music has been an integral part of some truly amazing films, but perhaps nowadays he's most recognized for his close association with Christopher Nolan. Having scored the entire Dark Knight Trilogy, along with Inception (thank him for those "BRAAAMMM!!!! foghorns you hear in every trailer now), he'll also be providing the soaring soundtrack for Man of Steel, which Nolan is producing. It's been a mutually beneficial collaboration so far, and it will extend to Nolan's next film.

While talking to Collider over the weekend, Zimmer revealed that he will compose the score for Interstellar, Nolan's sci-fi film that has largely been kept under wraps since it was first announced. He also says that work has already begun, getting a jump on it way ahead of the November 2014 release date...

Zimmer: “I wrote something…and I’m writing that.  So, yes, we have started.”

This probably doesn't come as too much of a surprise, as Nolan likes to stick with the same people in front of and behind the camera. The film will reunite him with Michael Caine and Anne Hathaway, with Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain joining him for the first time. Plot details remain scarce, and all we really know is that it involves a team of scientists on a  "heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding", and that it comes from a story conceived by Jonathan Nolan.

Add this to the list of reasons to be very excited to see what Interstellar turns out to be
