Jessica Chastain Shoots Down Hilary 'Rodham' Clinton Rumors
The role of Hilary Clinton in James Ponsoldt's biopic, Rodham, is going to be one of the most sought after in town, and already a number of high profile actresses are rumored for it. One of those said to be a contender was Jessica Chastain, and considering she just came off an Oscar nomination for Zero Dark Thirty, she had to be considered a favorite. But if the film does happen it will be without Chastain in the lead, as she denied the rumors in a recent interview with Metro.
Chastain: ‘No, that’s actually not true. I found out about the project online, but, yeah, there’s a lot of stuff out there.’
It's not a flat out denial, but considering her busy schedule it's not surprising she doesn't especially interested. She has Christopher Nolan's Interstellar coming up, along with Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak. She just recently wrapped up Liv Ullman's Miss Julie, and also has The Zookeeper's Wife to film at some point.
So that leaves Amanda Seyfried, Scarlett Johansson, and Reese Witherspoon as the other candidates for the Clinton role.
