Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx Reteam For 'Mean Business On North Ganson Street'

It looks like Django and Calvin Candie are keen on working together again, and who can blame them? The unlikely pairing of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx took the R-Rated Django Unchained to over $400M, and now they're hoping to match that success in their next collaboration, hopefully minus all of the controversy.

Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to Craig Zahler's upcoming crime novel, Mean Business On North Ganson Street, with an eye for DiCaprio and Foxx to re-team. Adapted by Zahler himself, the story centers kicks off with DiCaprio as a hardened detective who learns that his missing wife was a hooker who ran off with his money. After doing something terrible in the police squad room, the disgraced detective is shipped off to a crime-riddled city Victory, Missouri. He becomes partnered with another bad-ass (Foxx) demoted for brutalizing a suspect. The new duo begin investigating the execution-style murders of police officers.

DiCaprio will produce through his Appian Way banner, but a director still needs to be lined up. There should be plenty of time as DiCaprio is taking a bit of a break, and Foxx has to begin filming Annie this fall. [THR]
