New Look At the Returned Bucky In 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

We've seen a number of set photos from Captain America: The Winter Soldier already, and a good deal of them focused on Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier. The former Bucky was presumed dead in the last film, and much like the comics, he'll be found and reprogrammed to be the world's most lethal assassin. Whether it will be by the Russians or by some other supervillain isn't really clear, but this latest set photo gives us the best look at the Winter Soldier yet.

His bionic arm is the stand out element here, and while it looks a little unfinished at this point, those red dots on it are markers for the computer effects guys to spruce it up for the screen. Unlike some of the other characters Marvel has brought to life, Winter Soldier's design is extremely faithful to the comics. It'll be interesting to see how closely they follow through on his storyline, though. At one point, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is presumably killed, and it's Winter Soldier who takes over the Captain America mantle. Obviously, that's a very long ways off if Marvel were to ever consider going that route.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens on April 4th 2014. [Reddit]
