New Photos of Shailene Woodley in 'Divergent'

Has it been a Shailene Woodley-centric couple of days or what? Granted, not all of it was positive, as we learned she would no longer be appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man sequels. But there was good news as the first trailer for James Ponsoldt's tremendous The Spectacular Now finally debuted, and now we're getting new photos from Divergent, the YA franchise that is likely the main reason she won't be hanging out with Spidey.

Based on the first book in Veronica Roth's trilogy, Divergent is set in a future world where humanity has been divided into five factions based on ideology. Woodley plays "Tris" Prior, a powerful divergent who doesn't fit in any category. When she uncovers a plot to destroy people just like her, she must find out who is behind it before it's too late.

The buzz surrounding the film is rapidly approaching The Hunger Games levels, which should make Summit Entertainment happy as they desperately try to find a replacement for Twilight. Directed by Neil Burger and co-starring Theo James, Kate Winslet, Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Ashley Judd, Tony Goldwyn, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, and Ansel Elgort, Divergent opens next year on March 21st.
