Three New Clips from 'Despicable Me 2' with Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig

In Despicable Me, we saw Gru (Steve Carell) begin to give up his career as the world's lamest supervillain with the help of three cutesy adopted girls. In the sequel he's completely put his criminal career behind him, and has joined the Anti-Villain League to help take down a new baddie named El Macho. But there are worst threats Gru has to deal with now that he's a father, and one of those is the danger posed by his daughters talking to boys.

Universal has released three clips from Despicable Me 2, and two of them deal with domestic issues rather than battling supervaillains. The first has Gru and the girls discussing his new job with the League, while the second has him grilling Margo (Miranda Cosgrove) about a boy she's been chatting with over the phone. The final clip features a chaotic rescue attempt by the minions to save Gru and fellow agent, Lucy Wilde, voiced by Kristen Wiig.

Despicable Me 2 hits theaters on July 3rd.
